One of the most important steps in post production is getting your ISRC Codes.  Now, if you used a Digital Distributor to release your music like Tunecore, CD Baby, Distrokid ect., then you will get your ISRC & UPC Codes free.  It will then be up to you to take those codes and submit them to Luminiate (Formerly BDS/Neilson,) and Mediabase.

If you sign a Publishing Agreement with us and don't have your codes yet then we will provide that service for you for FREE.  With KRZ Publishing's service, we strip all the junk data off your final mixes, Embed the ISRC Code into the song and all other importantt Meta Data that is vital for all aspects of Music Publishing, including sync licensing, streaming, radio tracking, and royalty collection.

Now what that means; ISRC Code (International Standard Recording Code) is the globally recognized numbering system for audio and music video.  In other words, it's universal ID number that in turn allows you to get paid for digital music sales by tracking royalties.

ISRC codes are necessary to sell your individual tracks via iTunes, Apple Music and other online music distributors. They are also required for any songs that you plan to offer for streaming on Spotify and other streaming services.  You will also need to get ISRC codes in order to have your songs participate in the Billboard charts and In order to have a chance at making the Billboard music charts, your release must be registered with Luminate Soundscan using your ISRC codes for the individual tracks. If you do not register then your sales figures are not counted, and you remain invisible to the system.  ISRC Codes are not just recommended, they are a MUST!

In other words ISRC Codes are "Performance Identifiers" and and UPC Code is a "Release Identifier".  A UPC Code is the Universal Product Code that carries your release.  If you were releasing your  music on vinyl record it will need a UPC Code for the release of that record.  In turn however if you are releasing your album on C.D., Digital Download, and Vinyl, you would need 3 separate UPC Codes for each release.  If there are single being released as well as the album they would also need their own UPC Code.  Every release needs a UPC Code!
